Welcome new admits!

March 29, 2024

We are thrilled to welcome the first-year class of 2028 and the transfer class of 2026 to the #1 public institution in the world.

New Golden Bears,

Congratulations on your acceptance to UC Berkeley! As Vice Chancellor of Equity and Inclusion, I am thrilled to welcome you to our diverse and dynamic community.

As you prepare to embark on your journey at Berkeley, I want to highlight the Thriving Initiatives, which are integral to our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. The Thriving Initiatives prioritize the holistic well-being and success of every member of our community, with a focus on promoting equity, justice, and transformative change.

Through the Thriving Initiatives, we aim to increase student enrollment and support for first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students. We are dedicated to eliminating barriers to access and advancement, and we strive to create a culture where every individual feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

As you explore the resources and opportunities available at Berkeley, I encourage you to engage with the Thriving Initiatives and take advantage of the support systems and programs they offer. Whether you are interested in academic enrichment, leadership development, or community engagement, the Thriving Initiatives are here to support you on your journey.

I look forward to welcoming you to campus and witnessing the incredible contributions you will make to our community. Congratulations once again, and welcome to the Berkeley family!
