Gender Equity Resource Center (GenEq)
The Gender Equity Resource Center, fondly referred to as GenEq, is a UC Berkeley campus community center committed to fostering an inclusive Cal experience for all, with resources and events centering women, queer & trans communities, and survivors of sexual violence.
Queer Alliance Resource Center (QARC)
The Queer Alliance and Resource Center is a student-run organization in charge of providing social, educational, and safe sex programming for the queer and trans community on campus, and also acts as an umbrella organization for all active queer/trans communities on campus.
Multicultural Community Center (MCC)
A student-won, student-led space since 2007, the Multicultural Community Center strives to provide an educational space for the critical study and practice of community-based solidarity and to foster a welcoming, inclusive space for students.
Trans Student Wellness Initiative
The Transgender Student Wellness Initiative (TSWI) is a student-driven and community-centered program that aims to support the holistic wellness and retention of trans and nonbinary students at UC Berkeley, by distributing resources, offering free lunches for trans and nonbinary students, and hosting community-building events.
T-Cal
T-Cal is an RSO for undergraduate and graduate students that works with our campus, community, and state to advocate for transgender and gender non-conforming students.

The Sexual Orientation and Gender Advocacy Project (SOGA) seeks to improve the lives and experiences of queer and gender diverse graduate students at UC Berkeley.
LavenderCal (Staff & Faculty) - Monthly Trans & Nonbinary Staff Lunches
LavenderCal is a member-based organization working to build community and belonging among all LGBTQ+ staff, faculty, postdocs, and visiting scholars at UC Berkeley, and hosts events including monthly trans and nonbinary staff lunches.

Pacific Center
Founded in 1973, Pacific Center for Human Growth is the oldest LGBTQIA+ center in the Bay Area, the third oldest in the nation, and operates the only sliding scale mental health clinic for LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC people and their families in Alameda County.
Trans Support Group: A weekly peer-facilitated meeting, open to anyone anywhere along the transgender spectrum. Held every Friday evening from 8-9:30pm.
Oakland LGBTQ Community Center
The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center provides a varitey of resources for transgender support including peer group support and individual counseling.
Healthcare

Trans Healthcare At UHS
Ensuring trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse students receive the highest quality care in a supportive, respectful space, the key services offered at University Health Services include appropriate cancer screening (PAPs, prostates, and more), STD screening, hormone therapy (testosterone or estrogen, testosterone blockers, etc), and coordination of care and outside referrals. UHS also has mental health providers who have experience working with transgender, nonbinary, and gender diverse students.
Trans Healthcare SHIP Benefits
SHIP Benefits for trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse students include access to gender-affirming services and hormone therapy appointments through UHS, and coverage for certain medical procedures.

This group is for transgender, nonbinary, gender expansive, agender, gender diverse, genderqueer, and gender nonconforming students to come together in a safe, collaborative, nonjudgmental space. Together we will discuss a variety of topics related to being on the gender spectrum including gender identity, intersectional identities, different aspects of transition, coming out and being out at Berkeley, navigating family of origin considerations, community resources, academic stress, relationships, sexuality, and resilience and joy.
This group requires a pre-group meeting with facilitators before joining.

Gender Inclusive & LGBTQ+ Affirming Housing
Trans, nonbinary, gender diverse, and queer students can request inclusive on-campus housing options and are matched with other students who have submitted similar requests to ensure that university housing provides all students with safe, affirming spaces to find community.
UNITY Theme Program
The UNITY Theme Program is a residence hall floor and theme program dedicated to providing a safe, Pride-filled community for students who identify as LGBTQIA+, with gender-inclusive housing options. Students participate in an academic seminar, signature programs, experiential learning, and host the annual campus drag show.
BSC Co-Ops
Affordable, cooperative, non-profit student housing, including themed housing for LGBTQIA+ students.

The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) is the campus Title IX Office, contributing to a culture of respect by overseeing campus compliance with policies that prohibit discrimination and harassment for students, faculty, and staff.
Whistleblower Investigations
Employees and others are encouraged to report all known or suspected instances of misuse of University resources and/or known or suspected instances of improper governmental activities by University employees.
Student Advocate’s Office
A student-run office that assists students with issues regarding the University, including academic, financial aid, conduct, and grievances. The cases inform advocacy for changes in University policy that prioritize and protect students’ rights and general welfare.

The PATH to Care Center leads the efforts to transform our campus into a community that is free of sexual violence, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, and stalking through prevention, advocacy, training, and healing.

November 2024 Trans and Nonbinary Empowerment Month
Transgender and Nonbinary Empowerment Month (TNEM) is held annually every November to center and uplift the experiences of transgender and nonbinary communities. TNEM also encompassesTrans Awareness Week and Trans Day of Remembrance. At UC Berkeley, we honor TNEM through programs such as the Trans Health Panel, Trans Day of Remembrance, and uplifting the work of theTrans Student Wellness Initiative, a collaborative student-led initiative between GenEq and the Multicultural Community Center.
