The LTI Advisory Board serves and advises on high-impact strategy, policies, and programming that intersect with serving as an important stakeholder and advisory body to the Latinx Thriving Initiatives and the broader Thriving Initiatives.

The LTI Advisory Board builds on the legacy of the Chicanx/Latinx Standing Committee, and we thank everyone, past and present, who has advocated for and contributed to Berkeley’s efforts to better serve its Latine students, faculty, and staff.

The Latinx Thriving Advisory Board is responsible for:

  1. Advising the Latinx Thriving Initiatives constituents including the LTI Director of Organizational Transformation and LTI Faculty Director. Additionally, the Advisory Board will engage and consult with stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners as needed.
  2. Advise on recommendations that may bear upon the success of LTI.
  3. Serve as change agents and ambassadors to contribute to the efforts in their respective control units as appropriate to their respective roles.
  4. Provide endorsements and elevate meaningful programming and messaging that moves our campus towards Thriving.
  5. Develop and propose new charge ideas and initiatives in line with the Thriving priorities.
  6. Provide greater collaboration and cohesion amongst Latinx-focused and related entities on campus to promote synergy and to mitigate duplication of efforts.
  7. Support academic program accountability by providing guidance and feedback and serving as partners in research and community collaborations.
